Rush Skatepark is one of the largest indoor skate parks in the world – offering a unique rider experience – for BMX, Scooter, Skateboards, In-Line/Aggressive Skates. It’s also a family-friendly, family-run, award-winning park (and Community Interest Company).
When Jerry and Michelle Norman’s eleven-year-old son Josh caught the 'skate bug' the couple spent most weekends battling the traffic on pretty much every British motorway in search of the perfect park.
Josh had a ball. Jerry and Michelle less so. Most parks didn't really have anywhere for parents to hang out. Over time – and many cuppas – Jerry and Michelle started to create a vision of their own perfect skate park. A place kitted out with jaw-dropping ramps where the kids and their families could hang out. They surprised themselves as much as anyone else when they decided to go for it.
A hunt for suitable premises followed and ended (too) many months later when they bagged the former warehouse studios of artist Damien Hurst, at Brimscombe Port near Stroud in Gloucestershire.
Designing and building five sophisticated parks from Birch Wood Ply under one roof in this 40,000 sq. ft. park was a mammoth task. But they did it. And in December 2013 Rush Skatepark finally opened its doors and ramps for business.

Rush becomes a worldwide attraction
Boasting kick-ass facilities, Rush attracts riders and skaters from all over the world. Over 200,000 people – from Russia, Asia, mainland Europe, Australia and the United States – have already tested their skills on the park and bowl sections, the practice area with Resi jump box, foam pit, trials track and the only street section of its kind in Europe in the last two years. And judging by the smiles on their faces they had a great time.
